A New Year and Two Big Announcements

Well, the new year has come, the winter solstice is behind us, and the days are finally getting longer—slowly. It's the time of year to pause and reflect, and then get busy again.

Now, I don't create New Year's resolutions, but I review what I did and didn’t accomplish and what I want to work on in the coming year. This review is not to create resolutions or goals in the traditional sense, but to keep me aligned with what I want in my life and in my art.

While doing the review, I have come to realize that I need to improve my communication by being more consistent in sharing my story, the inspiration behind my art, the creative process, how I think about art, and more of my artwork. I want you to get to know me better, and I also want to open up conversations to get to know you better. So, for starters, I have committed to posting every two weeks on this blog and weekly on Instagram.

In that mindset, I have a couple of big wins to announce.

• I have new gallery representation at the Bell Street Gallery in Bayfield, WI.
They will be exhibiting my work starting in March or early April.

• I will be participating in the Door County Plein Air Festival in July.
I am excited and honored to be invited back, since I have not attended the festival since 2011. I'm looking forward to painting Door County again.

• I've also been invited back to Paint Grand Traverse in June.
I love the area and I'm looking forward to painting it once again, seeing friends, and working with Kristi and everyone at Crooked Tree Arts Center.

I'm stoked about the opportunities I have this year, including upcoming workshops, plein air festivals, new gallery representation, and even more. I'm also excited to meet new faces, get to know you better, and share new work and my passion for art with you. So, here's to the new year. Cheers!
